Privacy Policy
Welcome to Splyt Fitness AI (“Splyt”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and services (collectively, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not access or use the Service.

1.1 Information you provide to us
Account information: your name, email address, username, and password when you register for an account.
Profile information: your profile picture or avatar initials, and user ID.
Fitness and wellness tracking data you log, including workouts (exercises, sets, reps, weight, duration, notes), personal records, body weight and measurements, sleep duration and quality, custom habits, and daily summaries and notes.
Progress photos (a Splyt Pro feature): private photos you capture or upload to track visual progress, along with any note, pose label, and body weight you attach to them.
Support conversations: messages you send us through in-app support, so we can answer them.
Playground information: playground names, invite codes, and membership information for accountability groups you create or join.
Social connections: friend connections you make within the app, comments you post, and interactions within Playgrounds and group competitions.
Communication with Splyt AI: questions you ask, conversations you have with our AI coaching assistant, and fitness context stored in Splyt AI’s memory to personalize coaching over time.
Reports you submit: when you report content or another member, we collect the report and the content it refers to so we can review it.
Preferences: your notification settings, reminder preferences, appearance theme choices, and other customization options.
Payment information: subscription and billing information is processed through the Apple App Store and RevenueCat. We do not directly collect or store your payment card information. RevenueCat stores your subscription status and entitlement history to manage your Pro access.
1.2 Health and fitness data from Apple HealthKit
If you grant permission, we collect health and fitness data from Apple HealthKit: workout sessions (activity type, duration, splits, distance, source app), heart rate, active and basal energy, step count, stand time, flights climbed, walking/running/cycling/swimming distance, Apple Fitness activity rings, body weight, and sleep analysis including stages.
Read and write access: Splyt reads the data types above to display and analyze your fitness and wellness data. Splyt also writes completed workouts back to Apple HealthKit so they appear in Apple Health and count toward your activity rings. Workouts tracked on the Splyt Apple Watch app are written to HealthKit by the watch directly using Apple’s live workout builder.
Permission-based access: this data is only collected when you explicitly grant Splyt permission through the iOS Health permissions prompt.
User control: you can revoke HealthKit permissions at any time through Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → Splyt, which immediately stops new data collection.
We never use HealthKit data for advertising, marketing, or use-based data mining, we never sell it, and we never store it in iCloud. It is shared only with the service providers strictly necessary to deliver the Service, as listed in section 3.2.
Our use of HealthKit data is subject to Apple’s HealthKit framework terms and policies.
1.3 Data from the Apple Watch app
When you track a workout on the Splyt Apple Watch app, the watch may collect real-time heart rate and active energy from its sensors, GPS route and distance during outdoor workouts, and motion data used to calculate activity metrics.
This data is synced to your Splyt account via your paired iPhone and written to Apple HealthKit on your behalf, subject to the permissions you have granted.
The watch also registers for notifications so activity from your friends can reach your wrist directly rather than only your phone.
1.4 Device permissions we may request
Camera: to capture progress photos.
Photo library: to save workout summary images and to maintain a “Splyt Ring” album for your Apple Watch face.
Location: during outdoor workouts on iPhone or Apple Watch, to track pace, distance, elevation and your route. Location is only accessed while a workout is open.
Motion and the barometric altimeter: during outdoor workouts, to track elevation gain and movement.
Microphone and speech recognition: to log sets by voice mid-workout and to listen for “Hey Splyt”. Speech recognition runs on device where supported.
Contacts: so you can invite friends to a group. Your contacts stay on your device and are never uploaded.
Calendar: to sync planned workouts into a dedicated “Splyt” calendar.
Notifications: for reminders, rest timers, friend activity, competitions, records and streaks, on your phone and your watch.
Every one of these is optional and can be revoked at any time in iOS Settings. Revoking one disables the related feature but does not otherwise affect your account.
1.5 Information collected automatically
Device information: device type, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information.
Usage data: features you use, time spent in the app, frequency of use, screens viewed, and other interaction data.
Log data: IP address, access times, app crashes, and performance data.
1.6 Information from third parties
Apple HealthKit: health and fitness data as described above, with your permission.
Third-party fitness apps: workout data from apps such as Strava, Apple Fitness+, and GymKit-connected equipment, shared through Apple HealthKit with your permission.
Authentication services: basic profile information from Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In if you choose to sign in that way.
2. How we use your information
To create and manage your account, enable workout and wellness tracking, facilitate Playground and social features, and deliver all app functionality.
To import, display and analyze your health data, calculate sleep scores, track workout trends, display activity ring progress, and generate personal records.
To power Splyt AI: personalized workout proposals, insights based on your fitness data, and a coaching memory that carries across conversations.
To write completed workouts back to Apple HealthKit so they count toward your Apple Fitness rings.
To display your history, volume trends, personal records, sleep quality trends, activity ring analytics, and weekly summaries.
To enable Playgrounds, friend connections, leaderboards, group competitions and, if you opt in, the anonymized community group.
To review reports of objectionable content and enforce our community guidelines.
To send updates, security alerts, subscription information, and notifications you have opted into.
To understand how the app is used, identify bugs, improve performance, detect and prevent fraud and abuse, comply with legal obligations, and administer subscriptions and the Founding Member program.
3.1 Sharing within Playgrounds and social features
When you join or create a Playground, your logged workouts, sleep data, habit completions and other tracked daily activity become visible to the other members of that group.
Friends you connect with can see your workout activity and personal records on exercise leaderboards. If you opt into the community group, your activity is shared using an anonymized profile that does not display your name or account details.
Progress photos are never included in any of this. They are not visible to friends, to Playground members, or to the community group.
You control which Playgrounds you join and which friends you connect with, and you can leave a Playground at any time to stop sharing with that group.
3.2 Service providers
Supabase: cloud database hosting and storage for account, fitness and photo data.
RevenueCat: subscription management and entitlement tracking for Splyt Pro.
Anthropic (Claude API): powers Splyt AI coaching. Your fitness data and conversation content are sent to Anthropic to generate responses.
OpenAI: powers progress photo analysis, workout parsing from files, photos and links, and voice transcription. When you request a progress photo analysis, the photos you selected are sent to OpenAI to be analyzed and the result returned.
Neither Anthropic nor OpenAI uses your data to train their models. Both act as processors on our behalf.
Sentry: crash and error diagnostics so we can find and fix bugs.
Apple App Store: payment processing for subscriptions.
These providers are contractually obligated to protect your information and may only use it to provide services to us.
3.3 Progress photos and AI analysis
Progress photos are the most sensitive thing in Splyt, so they are handled differently from everything else.
They are stored in an encrypted, access-controlled bucket that only your account can read. They are never shown to other members, never posted anywhere in the app, and never used for advertising.
A progress photo leaves our storage in exactly one situation: when you tap to run an AI analysis on it. That photo is then sent to OpenAI, analyzed, and the result is returned and saved to your account. The photo is not used to train any model.
This never happens automatically or in the background. The first time you request an analysis, Splyt asks for your explicit permission and explains where the photo is going; if you decline, nothing is sent.
You can delete any progress photo, and its analysis, at any time.
3.4 Legal, business transfers, and consent
We may disclose your information if required by law or in response to valid legal requests, to protect the rights, property or safety of Splyt, our users or the public, or to detect and address fraud, security or technical issues.
If Splyt is involved in a merger, acquisition, asset sale or bankruptcy, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, and we will notify you.
We may share your information for any other purpose with your explicit consent.
We may share aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not show ads.
4. Data retention
Account information is retained until you delete your account.
Fitness and wellness tracking data is retained as long as you maintain your account, so your history, statistics and personal records stay intact.
Health data imported from Apple HealthKit is stored in our database as part of your account and is deleted when you delete your account.
Progress photos are retained until you delete them individually or delete your account.
Splyt AI conversations and coaching memory are retained to provide continuity, are not used to train external AI models, and are deleted when you delete your account.
Usage and diagnostics data is typically retained for shorter periods unless needed for security or legal purposes. RevenueCat retains subscription and transaction history in line with their policies and applicable law.
If you revoke HealthKit access, we stop importing new health data, but data already imported remains in your account until you delete it or delete your account.
5. Deleting your account
You can delete your account and all of its data from inside the app: Profile → Account Settings → Delete Account. This is permanent, not a deactivation — your workouts, habits, progress photos, messages, Playground memberships and account record are removed from our systems.
If you can no longer reach the app — you lost the device, or deleted the app before deleting the account — email splyt.fit@gmail.com from the address on the account with the subject “Delete my Splyt account” and we will delete it for you.
Deleting your account does not cancel an active App Store subscription. Cancel that separately in your Apple ID settings.
6. Your privacy rights and choices
Access: you can access your personal information at any time through your account settings.
Correction: you can update or correct your information through the app.
Deletion: you can delete your account in the app, as described above.
Data portability: you can request a copy of your data in a portable format.
Permissions: HealthKit, microphone, notifications, calendar, contacts, camera, photos and location can each be managed in iOS Settings.
Progress photo analysis: you can decline the AI analysis consent, and you can delete photos and analyses at any time.
Social privacy: you can leave any Playground, remove friend connections, and block another member at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at splyt.fit@gmail.com. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe as required by applicable law.
7. Data security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and at rest, secure authentication, row-level security so users can only access their own data, access-controlled storage for progress photos, regular security assessments, and need-to-know access for anyone working on Splyt.
No method of transmission or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security, and you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
8. Children’s privacy
Splyt is not intended for use by children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
9. International data transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, including the United States, where our servers and service providers are located. By using the Service you consent to this transfer, and we take appropriate measures to ensure your information receives an adequate level of protection wherever it is processed.
10. Third-party links and services
The Service connects with third-party platforms including Apple HealthKit, Apple Fitness+, Strava and GymKit-compatible equipment. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those services, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies.
AI assistants you connect: if you connect Splyt to an AI assistant such as Claude, it can read your own training, plan, habits and daily health data from your account, read-only, only after you sign in and allow it. You can disconnect it at any time from that assistant’s settings. What the assistant does with that data is governed by its provider’s privacy policy.
11. California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, the CCPA gives you the right to know what personal information we collect, use and disclose; to request deletion; to opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell it, including health data); and to non-discrimination for exercising your rights.
To exercise these rights, contact us at splyt.fit@gmail.com.
12. European privacy rights (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area, you have the right to access your data, to rectification, to erasure, to restrict processing, to data portability, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent at any time.
Our legal bases for processing are: performance of a contract (to provide the Service), legitimate interests (to improve and secure the Service), and your consent (for optional features such as HealthKit integration, voice mode, and progress photo analysis).
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices, technology or legal requirements. When we make material changes we will post the updated policy with a new date and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email.
Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the changes.
14. Contact us
Questions, concerns or requests about this policy: splyt.fit@gmail.com.
